The congratulatory telegram states, in particular:
“Victory in the Great Patriotic War is a universal event, which has changed the course of history. Thanks to the heroic achievement of the Soviet people, which has defeated Nazism, the world was saved.
The Great Victory was made possible through the unity and true brotherhood of all the nations of the Soviet Union, headed by the Russian nation. The memory of the outstanding generation of victors, our dear soldiers and home front workers, admiration for their selfless struggle continues to unite our nations even today. It also creates a strong foundation for the development of friendly and cooperative relations between Russia and Abkhazia.
On this great day, on behalf of the entire Abkhazian nation, I would like to wish strong health and prosperity to Russian veterans and their families”.
