President Raul Khadzhimba congratulated the tax authorities of the Republic of Abkhazia on their professional holiday – the Tax Authority Worker’s Day.
The congratulatory telegram states, in particular:
“The significance of your work to the functioning of the state is invaluable. The increase of the budget revenues and the fulfilment of social obligations by the state depend on the efficiency of the tax system.
In 2015, we have reached a positive trajectory in the issue of tax revenues. The tax administration has become more efficient and measures have been implemented to take the tax base out of the shadow.
Yet, there is still a lot of work to do. A lot has to be done to improve the tax legislation and optimise the tax system by reducing the number of taxes. The process of paying taxes has to be transparent and comprehensible to citizens.
I hope that the tasks placed before our tax authorities will be successfully completed on time”.
