Dear compatriots!
I congratulate you on the Day of International Recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia! It is a recent, yet one of the most loved state holidays. Twelve years ago, our centuries-old dream of building an independent state came true. Without exaggeration, the recognition of the state sovereignty of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation is one of the most important events in our modern history. Our state found peace and received security guarantees, which allowed us to focus on the strengthening of state institutions, the solution of economic, social, and other questions of internal development.
On this festive day, we remember our heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of the Homeland, our leaders, Vladislav Ardzinba who led our people to Victory in the Patriotic War, and Sergei Bagapsh with whose name our international recognition is inseparably connected.
