President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya sent a telegram of condolences to his Syrian colleague Bashar Hafez al-Assad in connection with the death of the citizens of the Syrian Arab Republic during an explosion in Beirut.
The telegram of condolences states:
Your Excellency Mr. President,
allow me, on behalf of the people of the Republic of Abkhazia and myself, to express condolences on the death of the citizens of your state as a result of an explosion in the port of Beirut, Lebanon.
The people of the Republic of Abkhazia share in the grief of this tragedy, the consequences of which will become a severe trial not only for the Middle East region but for the entire world.
In the face of this tragedy, I wish great courage and endurance to the families and friends of the victims and a speedy recovery to all wounded. I am asking to accept assurances of my deepest respect for you.
