By agreement between the leadership of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation, the state border between our friendly nations was opened from today. All restrictions that were in place during four months were lifted. We are grateful to Russia for this decision which will undoubtedly positively affect the economic situation in the state.
After a corresponding decision was made by the Coordination headquarters for the protection of the population of the Republic of Abkhazia from the coronavirus infection, I have signed a Decree to lift all restrictions from the Abkhazian side on the Russian-Abkhazian state border.
Dear compatriots, I address you with a request to undertake all security measures and to follow all sanitary and epidemiological requirements. We should not underestimate the danger of this treacherous disease. Precautionary measures should be followed in everyday life, in all institutions, kindergartens, schools, hotels, rest homes, and boarding houses. I instructed all heads of administrations of cities and districts of Abkhazia to keep everything under special control. The life and health of our citizens are the highest value for the state. I wish everyone health and prosperity”.
