President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya had a meeting with Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Abkhazia, Head of the Abaza-TV Channel Ruslan Khashig.
Ruslan Khashig informed the Head of State about the entry of the Union of Journalists of Abkhazia into the International Federation of Journalists. “This is good news not only for the Abkhazian journalists but also for all our people. The work to enter into the Federation took place for two years. I would like to point out the role of Vladimir Solovyov and Timur Shafir, the leadership of the Union of Journalists, who directly helped us in this issue”, - he said.
The Head of State congratulated the Abkhazian journalists on this occasion. “I did not doubt that this event would happen. True professionals work in the Union of Journalists. I would like to express hope that all these qualities, talent and efforts will be for the benefit of the society and people of Abkhazia”, - said the President of Abkhazia. He also noted that the day before, he talked with T. Shafir on the phone. “I am personally acquainted with him. He loves and supports our state”, - said the President of Abkhazia.
Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Abkhazia passed the invitation to the President of Abkhazia to the Forum of the Union of Journalists of Russia which will take place in Sochi from September 21 to 26, 2020. As part of the Forum, “The Days of Abkhazia” are traditionally held, to which the President of Abkhazia is being invited.
Questions of development of the mass media of the republic were also discussed.
