Today, President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Head of the Armed Forces Aslan Bzhaniya has observed combat shooting at the “Tsabal” firing field as part of joint military exercises of the Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia and the Russian military base of the Southern Military District with support from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Security Service of the Republic of Abkhazia. Large-scale exercises of the Abkhazian and Russian military forces took place for several days. Military maneuvers were carried on the “Nagvalou” and “Tsabal” firing fields. The active phase of the exercise took place on the Black Sea coast, where motorized rifle units, in cooperation with air defense units, scouts, and artillerymen, worked out defensive and offensive operations. On the whole, more than three thousand military personnel and more than three hundred units of military equipment participated in the exercises.
President of Abkhazia, Head of the Armed Forces Aslan Bzhaniya was pleased with the progress of the exercises. “Everything was organized very well. The cooperation between different types of military units was developed. I am satisfied with what I saw today. The leadership of the state will continue supporting such events that contribute to the defense-capabilities of our armed forces”, - said Aslan Bzhaniya to the journalists at the end of the exercises.
