The Victory Day Parade is taking place on the Red Square. The Heads of State that arrived for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Great Victory, among whom there is President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya, and took their seats on the podium with the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin greeted the guests, congratulated the veterans, and honored the memory of those who did not come back from the war.
The historical part of the parade is taking place, divisions and banner groups are marching.
Before the podium, 13 divisions of the armies of other states have marched - the military personnel of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Moldova, Mongolia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
On this day in 1945, the first Victory Day Parade took place in Moscow. It was marked by special solemnity and symbolism: soldiers and military equipment marched along the main square of the city, dragging Nazi standards on the ground and throwing them at the foot of the mausoleum.
